WOW!® Celestial Night® Tree Rose
Introducing a newcomer that is sure to make a name for itself in the gardening world—Celestial Night®. This fabulous Floribunda type was bred from Ebb Tide, that wonderfully productive purple rose that is still popular today. But what Ebb Tide lacked in disease resistance, Celestial Night® has in spades. Very rare in a purple variety, it displays resistance to the diseases that can plague rose growers and cause reduced flower production and shorter blooming periods. With Celestial Night®, you get an abundance of big, double ruffled blooms of deep plum-purple on a hardy, rounded plant. In fact, the roses are so full and vibrant, they can easily be seen from a distance. Its pleasing, subtle fragrance makes it an exceptional landscape rose. Also makes a superb addition to fresh arrangements. Celestial Night® flowers hold their vivid color until the blossom is completely mature. When flowers are completely mature they fall freely from the stem and when there is a breeze, they create a breathtaking "pathway to the heavens". Even after falling to the ground the petals will hold their bright color for another day or two! Many roses, especially older varieties, hold their petals on the stem while fading or turning brown, detracting from their overall appearance. Celestial Night® is self-cleaning, no deadheading is required so it always looks "celestial"! Bred by Christian Bedard. Rosa cv. 'WEKebtigrad' PPAF
We are delighted to announce that Celestial Night® Floribunda Rose has won the 2023 Members Choice Award from American Rose Society.
Also winning the American Garden Rose Selections™ 2022 Regional Choice Award in 3 regions - South Central, Southeast, Southwest, and is a 2022 Fragrance Award Winner!
What Is a Tree Rose?
Unlike traditional shrub roses that grow from the base up, tree roses—also known as grafted standard roses—are specially cultivated by grafting a rose variety onto a sturdy, 2–3-foot tall trunk of rose rootstock. This horticultural technique allows favorite floribunda, grandiflora, hybrid tea, or even climbing rose varieties to take on an elegant tree-like form. The result is a dramatic garden feature: a vertical accent that elevates lush, colorful blooms to near eye level. Tree roses offer a refined structure and bring added dimension to flower beds, borders, and containers alike.
