Clematis Sparkler

New Fretwell alert! Collectors of Barry Fretwell's hybridizations can tell you just how special these plants truly are. A British plant genius and renowned Clematarian, Mr. Fretwell has produced some of our favorite varieties. We're excited to offer first availability of a new cultivar to customers of Spring Hill Nursery.

Classic with a twist, Sparkler is a spotless white Clematis with extra sepals, each elongated and tipped with a pretty point. This Fretwell's lush, medium-green foliage is a perfect foil to its bright flowers. You'll love its multicolored center, reminiscent of a bursting firework.

Plant this Clematis on a trellis or allow it to twine through the branches of a woody shrub, such as a lilac. Or, plant this wonderfully adaptable Clematis in a container. Plant Sparkler along other white Clematis for an all-white display, or match it with red flowers to highlight its feisty center coloring.
