The most frustrating thing about most forsythia is that if you prune at the wrong moment, you'll remove all the buds. However, Magical® Gold Forsythia blooms on both old and new wood. It's fast-growing and vigorous, so you can expect a cover of large, bright yellow blooms each early spring no matter when the shears came out. You can depend on it for years, too, as this is a long-lived shrub. It'll grow to a mature height of 36-48", and that shorter stature will help it fit into smaller borders, or you can create a low hedge.
