Melody Allegro Dahlia

Melody Allegro Dahlia

Melody Allegro has petals that are orange, pink, salmon, and even tones of lilac, sometimes all at once. Gardeners who have planted this waterlily-type dahlia are always surprised by the range of colors on one plant. The compact plant produces larger, 4-5" decorative, almost round flowers, with petals that have a water-colored look. The sturdy plant is freely branching and produces lots of flowers from early summer until the first frost. Blooming prolifically all season, this Dahlia strikes a long-lasting note in the front of a flower border or in a large container. Compact (just 24" tall) and freely branching. Planted in masses, Dahlias fill gaps that develop in the perennial border and make excellent potted plants (1 tuber in a 12" pot). They prefer full sun, though partial shade will work in the South, and they like rich soil and even moisture. With few pests or diseases to trouble it, this dahlia will just keep blooming when other annuals and perennials peter out. It's long lived in arrangements too, lasting 7-10 days without fail. Easy-to-grow, and not bothered by deer, rabbits or other garden pests, though bees and butterflies love it. Dahlia decorative ?Melody Allegro' PP16799
