New Millenium Itoh Peony

New Millennium is truly an example of where the peony genus is headed--big, bold color in a hardy hybrid. Intersectional, or Itoh, peonies, are hybrids created by crossing a tree peony and an herbaceous peony. The results are both sturdy and beautiful, and, until recently, color variety was limited to pale pinks. New Millennium helped break the trend as a stunning, vibrant intersectional. The blooms are unique for an itoh peony, with petals that can be ruffled or notched, and occasionally highlighted by streaks of cream.
