Pink Elle Escallonia

Here's a shrub that's small enough to fit neatly into borders and containers, yet produces big, full flower panicles that are a real treat in the landscape. Early summer brings rich pink, star-shaped florets that form rounded flower heads amid dark evergreen, lance-shaped leaves. Performs very well in Southern gardens, and can be used as a potted plant in colder climates where overwintering may not be possible. Though it prefers a full-sun site, Pink Elle also tolerates a bit of shade, making it a wonderful variety for apartment dwellers to display on balconies or shadowed patios. Blooms last for weeks and bring pollinators to the landscape. Drought tolerant and easy to grow. Winter-hardy plant provides year-round interest in Zones 6-10.
